DEPARTMENT:   Academic Affairs   

REPORTS TO:   The President

CORE FUNCTIONS: 

The Academic Dean is a person of senior status who has overall responsibility for the academic affairs of the institution. This includes: the efficient implementation and operation of the academic systems and structures; the development and implementation of programmes of study; the monitoring of academic standards; and all related activities.

The Academic Dean is to provide leadership in developing, implementing and staffing academic programmes which are consistent with the mission and goals of CGST, and shall implement those academic policies which have been approved by the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology.

The Academic Dean is directly responsible for supervising the Heads of Departments (HODs).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctoral degree in Education/Psychology/Theology
  • Training in Educational Administration
  • Five (5) years’ related work experience at the managerial level

Head of Department, Behavioural and Social Sciences

DEPARTMENT:   Behavioural and Social Sciences

REPORTS TO:  The Academic Dean

CORE FUNCTIONS:

The HOD has overall responsibility for the Counselling Psychology programme of the institution. This includes: the effective management and operation of systems and structures; the development and constant monitoring of all programmes of study within the department; and all related activities.

The HOD provides leadership in monitoring and evaluating the academic offerings within the department, ensuring they are consistent with the mission and goals of CGST, and shall work closely in improving the academic programmes and policies which have been approved by the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology.

The HOD shall faithfully carry out the assigned duties diligently and competently and act in the best long-term interest of the institution and is directly responsible for supervising the lecturers that teach all courses within the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctoral degree in Education/Psychology or Post Graduate training in Psychology.
  • Training in Educational Administration
  • Five (5) years’ related work experience at the managerial level
